With only 3 games left in the Andersen League regular season, the top of the table could not be more evenly matched: before the meeting, LEHEL HC, DAB-ASP and UNI GYŐR ETO HC were separated by 1-1 points. In light of this, the Győr audience was prepared for a real “6-point” game on Saturday night at the Győri Jégsport Központ, where we hosted DAB-ASP.

Aggressive attacking after the kick-off is almost becoming our trademark, which we managed to do with the element of surprise: Mátyás Odnoga got the puck and passed it to Márk Almási for a shot, which was defended by Valenta, but Benedek Madácsi came on the rebound and scored our first goal after 8 seconds!(1-0) Never a worse start! It was not long before another home goal, a minute and a half later Bence Makovics let a shot from an impossible angle go, which still found the net of Dunaújváros. (2-0) After that the visitors woke up, after several dangerous situations Azari fired a shot from distance into the top left corner from a man advantage. (2-1) With less than 4 minutes to go Jábor Bendegúz received a brilliant pass from Makovics and one on one he made no mistake. (3-1) It would have been nice to go into the break with a 2 goal lead, but a minute later after an aggressive puck catch Zorin was successful. ( 3-2)

In the second period, we managed to decide the fate of the match, first Odnoga Mátyás showed a beautiful solo action (4-2), then Márk Koczkás received a great pass from Sipák and finished the attack relentlessly. (5-2) The icing on the cake was Majoross Barnabás, after a successful party he unleashed a huge bomb from the blue line into the top right corner. (6-2)

Although the game seemed to be “over” by the last quarter, we were not without excitement. In the sixth minute of the period, at a 4:3 stand, Majoross scored his second goal, again from the top right corner. (7-2) Despite this, the visitors did not give up, kept fighting and three minutes later Atamanchuk scored after a nice counter attack. (7-3) Eight minutes before the end, Dániel Csölle joined the list of goalscorers from distance. (8-2), but the visitors still had some powder left in the end, they managed to lead a nice counterattack in a man down, and Udovenko set the final score. (8-4)

It was a very important match, and it could easily have been a win in the regular season. After 18 games we are 2 points ahead of DAB and tied with LEHEL HC. We have a home Worm Angels and a away FTC-Telekom waiting for us, go for it boys!
