We played our first home game on home soil on Saturday, in the Andersen League. We hosted FTC-Telekom, so we were expecting a really fast-paced, goal-rich match, which did not disappoint the fans.
The match started at a fast pace, just 3 minutes later and Dániel Taródi scored. It wasn’t long before Richárd Horváth scored his first goal in the Andersen League a minute later. After that FTC managed to score(Máté), but Márk Nagy answered a few minutes later.
The team’s momentum didn’t break after the break, Márk Almási doubled, Márk Nagy and Richárd Horváth scored again and young Norbert Lévai scored in the second period. With a minute left in the middle of the game, the visitors managed to score a second goal(Komáromy). We thought that the score would remain 8:2 until the end of the period, but with 40 seconds to go Márk Koczkás increased our lead.
The last 20 minutes were also a goal-filled game, but only the visitors found the net. In the first half of the period, Filipp Nesterov scored the tenth ETO goal, and Norbert Lévai scored 11 a little later. The 12:2 final score was set by Márk Nagy for our team, scoring a master triple in the first home game.
It was a particular pleasure to see the forward-looking play of many home-grown young players, and the increasingly strong team unity and combinative play showed the fans the justification for the Andersen League , a second division championship reorganised from the ground up, in Hungarian hockey life.
