After the EUHL win on Wednesday, the boys were again facing a tough opponent, this time in the Andersen League, hosting the MAC Icons.

We knew it was going to be a tough game, but the crowd hadn’t even really taken their seats when we scored right from the midfield through Márk Almási. The quick goal didn’t discourage the Icons, they soon picked up the rhythm of the game, 5 minutes before the break Bödök scored the equalizer, and a minute and a half later Schmál took the lead. Fortunately we still had some powder left in the pot, a minute before the whistle Almási passed beautifully to Benedek Madácsi, who is not used to making mistakes in such situations, and the boys could go to rest with a level score.

In the second period, Győr dominated the game, but the capital’s defense was always able to neutralize our attacks and they were able to create dangerous situations. In the middle of the period Ádám Kiss was able to take advantage of a goalkeeping mistake, but no more goals were scored in the period. So we went into the second break with a lead, but not reassured.

In the last act you could feel the fatigue of the visitors, who had two lines, but they fought hard and did not give the victory easily. First Daniil Shadskii, then five minutes later István Farkas found a gap in the shield to set the final score.

A technical, hard-fought match with a dangerous opponent until the last minute. On Sunday evening, our team will face another challenge, we will travel to Mátyásföld to play the Sharks of Sportland.
