The adult ice hockey team of Széchenyi University of Győr, UNI GYŐR ETO HC will compete in several “stages” in the 2024/25 season, and this is how the boys stand at the end of the regular season:

The EUHL, the Slovak-based international university league, is a great opportunity for our players to develop their skills. This year we had a fantastic start to the season: although we lost our first two games against last year’s finalists Trenèín and Banská Bystrica, we won the Malopolska Winter Cup on our tour to Poland, winning 3 out of 3 games, and also beat last year’s runners-up Gladiators Trenèín! Although we still have 7 matches left in the regular season, we are currently 3rd in the table with 9 points (less matches), so we have a very good chance to qualify for the 6-team playoffs. The regular season of the Andersen League is coming to an end, with 3 matches left to play. This season has seen a number of annoying defeats, such as home games against Szeges and Jászberény, and an away meeting against Vasas. We are currently in 3rd place in the table, 3 points behind 2nd placed Szeged and 6 points behind the almost flawless Lehel HC. The playoffs are already decided here, and one of the top four spots is assured, the only question is the specific number. Szeged, Lehel and Vasas are all in very good form this season, so it will certainly be a tough battle for the title. Read more: https://www.jegkorongszovetseg.hu/andersen-liga

The Hungarian Cup matches have already finished for us, but we achieved a historic success by reaching the 3rd round and winning the title of the best second division team!

The MEFOB is still to come, but we are clearly going into this challenge with the intention of winning the title!

We’ve got some exciting games behind us, but the best is yet to come, the boys have two playoffs to play in two leagues. It will be worth attending the home games and cheering them on together.
