Another 3 points at home.

Hockey fans had no reason to complain this week, the boys played at home again, this time in the Andersen League against the Worm Angels. Two years ago we lost a close battle to reach the final, but this season we were the favourites to win the title. The first 10 minutes of the game started a bit sleepy, interrupted by an unexpected goal from Erdélyi (0-1). The goal from Dunaújváros gave our team the “boost”, 2 minutes later Csata Sebestyén hit a rebound, no chance for the netminder (1-1). Soon after, Márk Nagy dribbled brilliantly between 5 defenders and lifted a beautiful shot into the top right corner (2-1). It was not over yet, less than 1 minute later Richárd Horváth led a nice attack, scoring the last goal of the period (3-1). In the second period Győr continued to dominate, in the fourth minute after a successful “party” Csata Sebestyén received a nice pass and shot cleanly into the long top corner (4-1). The next 15 minutes were mostly about missed home chances, but no goal was scored. But the boys had some powder left before the break, Dániel Csölle bombed a shot from distance, which Martin Sipák touched perfectly, making the shot unguardable (5-1). Less than 20 seconds after the midway mark, the Dunaújváros goalie misplaced a rebounded puck, which landed on the stick of Bence Dézsi, who made no mistake (6-1). In the last period the “green and white” continued to score, in a nice counter attack Csata Sebestyén put the puck cleanly into the net, he didn’t miss, scoring a master triple in today’s meeting (7-1). Then, literally from the middle of the attack, Richárd Horváth caught the rebound of his own shot and scored the 8th goal of our team (8-1). The final game was also exciting: a minute and a half before the whistle Benedek Madácsi led the puck from our own third and shot confidently into the top right corner, then after the midfield Jadlószki received a nice pass and put a clean shot into Róth’s goal (9-2).

This victory was not in doubt either, we are still unbeaten in the Andersen League with a convincing goal difference of 32! Next Tuesday we have a Hungarian Cup rematch in Jászberény, at home of Lehel HC, who are also unbeaten, where we arrive with a 6:3 advantage.
