The 2024/25 season started for our team on 5 October, with our first two games in the Andersen League away from home:
- we first visited the home of Goodwill Pharma Szeged, the team from the Tisza coast is always a difficult opponent, and we didn’t expect an easy match this time either. Fortunately, we managed to take a 3 goal lead right at the beginning of the match, which the home team had an answer to and they were able to reduce our lead to 1, but the next 4 goals came from Győr, which decided the match, and in the end the hosts could only make it better: (4:7). Both of our new arrivals, Bence Dézsi and István Szűcs scored, never a better debut!
- On the 12th, FTC was our “guest” team, last year’s bronze medallists, and the goal was to get 3 points. This evening there was no question that this would happen, in the first period we scored 4 goals and in the second 3 goals. The last part of the game was more evenly matched, so we scored “only” 1 goal (0:8). Bence Dézsi scored a master triple, while Nándor Róth ended the game with a shutout!
The boys have made a fantastic start to the season, and next week the home crowd will be in for a treat:
- On Tuesday the 15th, the boys will make their debut in a Hungarian Cup match against Lehel HC,
- On Saturday 19, we will host the new Egerszeg Titans in the Andersen League.
