The only games left to play from the regular season of the Andersen League are the cancelled or interrupted games, first we hosted the Worm Angels on Thursday night at Nemak Ice Hall. We played our first game of the season away to Dunaújváros, where we lost, so the boys were looking forward to the match with a chance of revenge.

In the first period, we put a lot of pressure on the visitors’ goal from the start, which we only managed to limit to 8. for a minute, then the “road roller” started. Nesterov, Morozov, Marth, Almási and Lévai all found the gap in the shield and the game looked almost decided after the first 20 minutes.

In the second period we slowed down a bit, we let the opponent open up several times, but thanks to our solid defense the guests could not take advantage of our reduced tempo, also thanks to the great saves of Ákos Mészáros, who replaced Martin Szeles in the first period. In fact, in the middle of the period Bence Marth scored his second goal, increasing our lead.

The last period was almost a copy of the previous one, with the difference that Majoross scored the only goal of the period and the last goal of the game, setting the final score.

We won the last match of the regular season with a steady, confident game, never letting go of control. During the day we received the information that Szeged withdrew from Saturday’s match (which was credited to us with a 5:0 win), thus ending the Andersen League regular season for us, which we finished in first place with 42 points!
Next week we will play the playoffs, and our opponent for the last 4 will be Jászberény.
