After our away win, we had a chance to qualify on Saturday night in front of our home crowd against the WORM ANGELS. Last season it was the team from Dunaújváros that stopped us on the way to the final, so the boys had a lot to “pay back”.

Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long for the first home goal, as Benedek Madácsi scored a long-range bomb in the 4th minute. minute, muffing the opposing goalkeeper. (1-0) Although the crowd witnessed a huge Győr superiority, there were no further goals for more than 10 minutes and surprisingly, it was also from an away goal: Hruby scored from distance down the right. (1-1) A few seconds later the answer came, Madácsi scored again from behind the net. (2-1) Although we had a lot of chances, most of them went unused, so we could go into the break with “only” a one goal lead.

The middle period brought a real goal parade, the boys made it clear who would leave the field victorious on this night: Ádám Kiss started the scoring right at the beginning of the period, and then Márk Koczkás was able to fool the goalkeeper in the middle. (4-1) Then came two assertive Madácsi goals, and the line was completed by Tamás Farkas ‘ goal. (7-1) Never a worse third!

In the last half, the teams gathered all their strength, the game became more even, but we still managed to score the first goal in the period: our young player, recently recovered from injury, Csata Sebestyén scored after a nice solo action. (8-1) The Angels could still score through Horváth, but we had the last word: our excellent team captain Benedek Madácsi scored again, scoring his 5th goal of the match! (9-2)

Two great games have put us in the top 4 of the Andersen League playoffs, our opponent for the final is still in question, but whoever it is, we need to be just as determined.
