In a little over 2 weeks the season will start for our team, and after the summer “dry” training on ice we “topped” it off with a preparation match.
It can’t be said that the coaches have organized an “alibi” team for the boys, our opponent was HC TREBS BRATISLAVA, who are sizing up in the Slovak second division this season.
The majority of their players were members of the “B” team of Slovan Bratislava, also in Slovak 2, last year.
From the first minute onwards, the match was fast-paced, technical and, as a preparation match, free of roughness, with both sides creating serious situations in the first period, but no goals were scored.
In the beginning of the second period we started well and managed to put pressure on their goal for minutes, but we couldn’t convert our chances into goals, which later took its revenge: the visitors started scoring goals, most of which were the result of individual mistakes and carelessness.
At 0:4 we managed to score a goal( Bence Láday scored from a pass bySebestyén Csata ), but Bratislava closed the middle period with a 1:5 lead.
In the last half we also changed the goalkeeper, Nándor Róth was replaced by Áron Simó, who was playing his first game as an adult.
Again, the home goals were often only inches away, but the opponent was able to exploit the situations more steadily today, and they ended the third period with a 0:3 score. The visitors had the upper hand in this encounter, but the boys gave their all and created plenty of chances, albeit missed ones.
The performance will be worth a visit to the Győr Ice Sports Centre for the 2024/25 season for all hockey fans!
