Ice hockey coach education at the university
In September 2026 the university's Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences launched its Sports Coaching master's programme (MSc), and ice hockey is one of its specialisations. It can be taken in Hungarian or English, full-time or part-time. So alongside or after your playing career, you can build a coaching career right here in Győr.
The university is also preparing a bachelor's programme in coaching (BSc), in Hungarian and English.

Flexible study and exam schedule
A preferential study and exam schedule that varies by field. On some programmes this can even mean exemption from compulsory attendance and fixed exam dates.

Who can join the programme?
According to the university's admission booklet, the programme is for athletes competing at an outstanding level: in team sports, national team players and those playing at the top level of the national championship, as well as athletes with outstanding results in the university sports club (SZESE) or at organisations registered as the university's strategic partners. Why UNI GYŐR ETO HC?
UNI GYŐR ETO HC is the ice hockey team of Széchenyi István University. Since 2022 the team has been built on students: players compete in the Hungarian senior league and on the international university stage alongside their studies. More than 15 players on the 2026/27 roster study at the university.
Andersen Liga
Hungarian senior national league. Champions three times in a row: 2024, 2025 and 2026.
EUHL
European University Hockey League with Slovak, Czech, Polish, Hungarian and Transylvanian university teams. Silver in 2025, bronze in 2026.
Hungarian Cup
National cup competition run by the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation.

Elite Athlete Scholarship
Funded by the Foundation for Széchenyi István University, announced by the UNIVERSITAS-Győr Foundation.
- Full-time or part-time bachelor's, master's or undivided master's student at the university.
- At least one completed active semester at the university with a scholarship average of 3.00 or higher.
- The result must fall within the call period (1 July – 30 June).
- Two rounds a year (deadlines: 31 January and 30 June), online at ktr.sze.hu.

Collect institutional points — your sport counts too
At Széchenyi István University institutional points (max. 100) are also awarded for sporting results:

Apply in the E-felvételi system on felvi.hu ↗. The application window traditionally runs until 15 February; felvi.hu publishes the exact 2027 dates in December. The order of your choices matters.
