Our penultimate game in the Andersen League regular season took place on Friday night, against Vasas, who have been in very good form so far and who have won our away game.
We started the meeting in a great way, with an attack from the midfield, we scored a goal, 10 seconds after the whistle, Bence Makovics scored.1-0
The visitors could answer, they managed to take advantage of a double man advantage through Bayer. 1-1
But from there on there was no stopping the Győr “road roller”, in the second half of the period 5 goals in a row came from Győr’s striker. 6-1
The start of the second period was eerily similar to the first, although the first – Győr’s – goal was “already” 30 seconds away: after a great jump, Bence Makovics scored again. 7-1
But then came a “power break” from our team, before the first minute Vasas scored 2 goals through Horácskó and Hladony. 7-3
It was time to shake things up a bit, which we did: first Richárd Horváth scored, then Benedek Madácsi “came into the game” with a double. 10-3
After that, the guests still had some gunpowder left, Szabó scored a beauty. 10-4
The last goal of the period came from Győr, Jábor Bendegúz scored the 11th goal for Győr. 11-4
The last period broke the “tradition”, no goal was scored in the first minutes, the silence was broken by István Szűcs, and shortly afterwards Botond Fekete let a long range bomb find its way into the net. 13-4
A few seconds later, Vasas managed to respond with another goal by Nyergesi, but as in the previous two games, it was Győr’s striker who had the final say in this one as well: Jábor Bendegúz was able to make a nice save to set the final score. 14-5
We managed to get the 3 points in an important match with a confident game. The top 3 places in the table are still wide open, with Szeged and Lehel competing for the positions, and the last matches of the regular season will decide the final order.
Next Saturday we will play MAC Ikonok at home, which will finish the regular season of the Andersen League 24/25.
