We have already played an exciting match against Lehel HC<\/strong> from J\u00e1szber\u00e9ny in the Hungarian Cup, and now we have also had the chance to face each other in the Andersen League<\/strong>. Both teams were unbeaten in the league so far, and the stakes were to keep\/lose this series.<\/p>\n

From the beginning of the first period you could feel the superiority of Gy\u0151r, the boys were able to play their own game, which resulted in a goal in the 9th minute, when D\u00e1niel Cs\u00f6lle<\/strong> fired in a shot from distance. Less than a minute and a half later Norbert L\u00e9vai<\/strong> was able to increase our lead to 2, after a beautiful pass from Martin Sip\u00e1k. 5 minutes before the break we saw a “replay” of the previous goal, only in shepherd’s crook: L\u00e9vai gave an unguardable pass to Martin Sip\u00e1k<\/strong>. But 20 seconds later there was a “sobering” goal, the visitors found the gap in the shield, and Mercurio<\/em> did not flinch in front of goal. But the game wasn’t over yet, Nono L\u00e9vai<\/strong> was able to finish a nice solo attack in a man advantage situation, and the boys went into the break with a reassuring 3-goal lead.<\/p>\n

Head coach Szil\u00e1rd Ruszny\u00e1k<\/em> gave the J\u00e1szber\u00e9ny team some effective instructions during the break, and they came out in the second period with a noticeably different tempo. And the result came in, G\u00f6rbe<\/em> had a clear shot from distance, Kornakker was helpless. Shortly afterwards we had a double man down, which we could not defend, and our comfortable lead was reduced to 1 goal, it was time for a change of pace. It happened, and 2 minutes later the home crowd could celebrate another Sip\u00e1k<\/strong> goal. No more goals were scored in the period, so we went into the break with a 2 goal lead.<\/p>\n

In the third period we managed to bring back the confident, dominant play of the first period. We started the last period with a man advantage, and Benedek Mad\u00e1csi<\/strong> showed no mercy, in the first minute he could increase our lead to 3 again. The L\u00e9vai-Sip\u00e1k “duo” felt the game today, they had a hand in almost every Gy\u0151r goal, and 5 minutes before the end they assisted again, this time M\u00e1rk Koczk\u00e1s<\/strong> was able to finish the goal, setting the final score.<\/p>\n

We confidently won the derby between the two league leaders, thus maintaining our unbeaten streak in the Andersen League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Next week the boys will have another tough week, on Thursday the three-day UNI GY\u0150R HOCKEY CUP II starts, where we will play 3 consecutive games in the EUHL.<\/strong><\/p>\n
